Melula Travel, a local tour operator in Eswatini, is excited to announce the launch of an “Off-Grid Getaway”, allowing tour participants to disconnect from the rat race of the modern world. The “Off-Grid Getaway” is a weekend trip to The Kingdom of Eswatini, lodging at Malolotja Nature Reserve, with the serene Makhonjwa Mountains in the backdrop; the oldest mountains in the world.
The tour starts off with a pick up at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Friday morning, followed by a scenic four and a half drive to Malolotja Nature Reserve, including a stop at Alzu Petroport, Middleburg. Upon arrival at Malolotja Nature Reserve, guests are welcomed and ushered into a wooden cabin with views over a small valley in open grassland, with the more dramatic mountains of the reserve in the distance. The cabins serve as shared accommodation for the weekend. A 45 minute outdoor yoga session takes place before sunset, providing the perfect ambience for reflection, and gratitude. A short, moderate hike on Saturday morning exploring parts of the 18,000ha wilderness of high rolling hills and deep forested river gorges offers a genuine wilderness in which nature lovers adore. Saturday evening is set for a braai, with vegan options available. Stories, history lessons, and urban myths are the order of the day around the camp fire.
“The Makhonjwa Off Grid Getaway is a pandemic inspired tour. We all need to reflect, and recharge after an unprecedented time in our lifetime. We have plenty to be grateful for; and being in nature is one way to ignite a spirit of gratitude. The tour is also Melula Travel’s little way of improving livelihoods in our society, as 1 tourist directly contributes to the employment of 7 to 10 people in The Kingdom of Eswatini” said Tour Director, Akhona Fakudze.
The tour dates for 2022 are; 29-31 July, 26-28 August, 23-25 September, 21-23 October, and 25-27 November. To make a booking, or request more detailed information kindly email firstname.lastname@example.org or WhatsApp +268 79 177 323.
