Eswatini hosts Responsible Tourism Matters Conference

Eswatini will host the RTD17 Conference : Responsible Tourism Matters on April 17, 2024 from 10am to 6pm, at Piggs Peak Hotel. The one-day conference will explore practical strategies for tourism to benefit local communities. Applying the idea of growing the cake by creating shared value will give the industry ways to enrich local communities and the tourism experience.

The Responsible Tourism Matters Conference will feature a keynote speech on The Significance of Shared Value by Dr. Harold Goodwin, a pioneer in responsible tourism and an advocate for sustainable travel practices worldwide. Attendees will also benefit from panel discussions with industry experts on sustainable practices, community involvement, and moving from dialogue to actionable strategies in responsible tourism. The conference also forms part of the series of Responsible Tourism in Destinations Conferences – RTD17.  Panel members include awarded practitioners from Eswatini,  India, South Africa and The Gambia.
