Dwaleni Farm Lodge, one of Eswatini’s (Swaziland’s) most pristine getaways, has launched a brand new event for fun-lovers across the nation and internationally – the Eswatini Mobile Festival Xplosion.
Scheduled for Saturday 27th July 2019, the first-of-its-kind annual fireworks, music and lifestyle event will feature award-winning displays by Fireworks For Africa (FFA) alongside an exciting line-up of world-renowned musical acts.
Concept developer Msimisi Dlamini of Dwaleni Farm Lodge believes the annual event will serve as a major tourism attraction that will have significant spin-offs and benefit the whole of Eswatini’s hospitality industry. Speaking during the launch of Festival Xplosion held at Dwaleni Farm Lodge this month, Dlamini explained: “The event is established on a concept of family orientation, unity in diversity and ethnic admiration. The vision is to create a leisure experience that unites Emaswati, becoming more than an event, but a movement of togetherness, warmth, sharing and adventure.”
Festival Xplosion aims to appeal to a wider audience, accommodating participants of all ages. Dlamini says this is an attempt to fuse young and mature entertainment with the aim of bridging the gap and creating a unifying experience.
“More than an experience, this is a festival with the goal of becoming a world class event that attracts global recognition and support — a way of luring tourists into the country as well as a means of showcasing Eswatini’s attractions”, he said.
He explained some of the goals of the festival as:
- To attract festival lovers and attendants from across the SADC region
- To become one of Eswatini’s top events
- To become one of Africa’s highest-listed events
- To become an event that with tourism to promote the Kingdom of Eswatini.
The festival focuses on fireworks, food, music and kids activities – fireworks being the main attraction. “The fireworks displayed will provided by Fireworks For Africa, a professional company that has been in operation for over 20 years. which prides itself of high quality fireworks and boasts of being a nationwide leader in the Fireworks Display Industry in South Africa.” Dlamini said.
Fireworks For Africa has performed fireworks presentations around the globe. “They have won seven international competitions representing South Africa, worked in 34 countries and have displayed 6,580 different types of fireworks effects, which is quite impressive.” said Dlamini.
He explained that the food would consist of a menu that is culturally diverse, focusing on a range of different cuisines including Swati, Chinese, Portuguese and Indian, with Game Meat also on the menu. Musicians from Eswatini and other neighbouring countries will take to the stage to perform throughout the day. There will also be quad biking, jumping castles, face painting, hula hooping and more for the youngsters to get involved in.
The event takes place from 2pm until late, Saturday 27th July 2019.
