Big Game Parks launch Family Fun Days this December

Big Game Parks, who run four of the best wildlife parks in Eswatini (Hlane Royal National Park, Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, Mkhaya Game Reserve and the recently acquired KaMsholo Bushveld Safaris) have launched a series of monthly ‘Family Fun Days’ to welcome visitors of all ages to experience the wonderful wildlife on offer and to reconnect with those around us.

Currently available at KaMsholo Bushveld Safaris with a Christmas special event taking place at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, the family days at KaMsholo will run on a monthly basis with the next event taking place on Saturday 3rd December. The family fun day event at Mlilwane will take place on Saturday 10th December.

Traditional games will be available at KaMsholo with free of charge activities between 10:00 am – 10:30 am. As the day progresses, visitors will be able to explore with a variety of additional activities also available. 30-minute game drives will be ready to depart around the park at only E50.00 per person, and a Nguni walk and talk tour (1 hour) will also be running at the same price. Big Game Park’s will also be running pony rides, offering a great introduction to horse riding for children, priced at E50.00 per person. General admission for the next family fun day at KaMsholo will be E55.00 Adults/E30.00 Child. Enter the event via the KaMsholo Bushveld Safari Gate.

The family fun day at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary offers similar activities but with a Christmas twist. The ‘Family 5km Reindeer Dash’ at Mlilwane, starting at the earlier time of 08:00, is an annual family fun event aimed at the Emaswati community and in-house guests as a gift collection drive for the orphans of the Esitjeni Care Point.  The idea is to get families on to the park and spend some quality time together enjoying nature by either going for a walk, run, cycle or even horse riding on a 5km route set up especially for the day. Entry to the event is simply by bringing a wrapped gift for a child of 3 – 17 years for the supported charity. A small conservation fee will also be required.

You can bring your own bicycle along to Mlilwane or book one of the park’s own rental bikes, available at an hourly rate. Guided horse rides are also available at an hourly rate.
