About the ETA
The Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA) is mandated to market the Kingdom of Eswatini as travel destination of choice within the country, regionally and overseas.
- Develop the tourism sector as a national priority in an environmentally sustainable and culturally acceptable manner,
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of government policies and strategies on tourism,
- Market Eswatini as a tourism destination through the provision of a platform for industry stakeholders,
- Encourage, facilitate and promote local and foreign investment in the tourism industry, and
- Ensure the contribution of tourism to the socio-economic development and continued improvement of quality of life in the Kingdom of Eswatini

Accommodation Grading
In line with the industry’s efforts to enhance service delivery, and ensure improved and consistent standards across the country, ETA launched voluntary grading for accommodation establishments in Eswatini in August 2018. All establishments are encouraged to be assessed and can download the grading application form by clicking here. Star ratings from 1 to 5 will be available within categories of: hotels, lodges, B&Bs, self-catering, and campsites. News of the launch of grading can be seen by clicking here. COVID-19 Protocols
In July 2020, the ETA joined with the Hospitality & Tourism Association of Eswatini (HOTEAS) to produce Health & Safety Guidelines on COVID-19 in the Tourist Industry, with the intention to allow tourists to return to the country and visit it as safely as possible. Click here to see & download the document. These were produced after extensive consultation with the Ministry of Tourism and WHO and are based on UN and WHO guidelines. Safe Travel Stamp Application process
The Kingdom of Eswatini has received the Safe Travels Stamp of approval from the World Travel & Tourism Council for its Health & Safety protocols brought in during 2020 to give travellers the confidence to travel to and around the country as safely as possible. Having obtained the stamp, ETA is now able to award it to members of the tourist industry within Eswatini, and is very keen to see as many as possible obtain and display it. Eswatini Official Tour Guides Course
Eswatini’s only Official Tour Guides Course comes with the backing of the country’s Tourism Authority and its tourist Industry. The costs of the course are minimal and so it offers a great opportunity for tour guides to gather an in-depth knowledge of the country and to become official accredited. Destination Mobile App Challenge 2021
The Eswatini Tourism Authority have partnered with the Royal Science & Technology Park of Eswatini to launch their participation in the 41st global celebrations of World Tourism Month by announcing a competition for the young people of Eswatini to develop the country’s first ever Destination App. Find out more about the challenge in this news article.
